I was so lucky to have long Easter holiday this time, 4 full days. We decided to spend it in Catalunya and our choice fell on Cadaques, a small village in Costa Brava, about 2 hours driving from Barcelona towards France. It used to be a very small fishing village many years ago but today it is a small yet very touristic city. Perhaps, because it is the closest town to Port Lligat, Salvador Dali’s summer house.
Cadaques is a very old town and when I say old I mean everything is super old and picturesquely decrepit. Cadaques is located in the hills, hillocks and tumps. Many houses are even not in Google Maps. Houses your ask? Not even houses but streets: some of them are so small and short that they wouldn’t show up on a map anyways.
Exactly on this kind of street we’ve found one of the most adorable hotels, we’ve ever stayed at. Tramuntana hotel is small and has only 11 rooms and a tiny cute breakfast space with a little terrace. I was completely in love with the owners, kind and gracious catalan couple.
Tramuntana is a very new hotel just opened in April 2014, everything is very modern and stylish.
What really impressed me was the breakfast, only for 12,5 euro you will eat as a king, chose whatever you wish, fresh orange juice, freshly grounded coffee, different types of teas, scrambled eggs, cakes, home made pancakes with all types of jams, all products are local and made in Cadaques.
So if you plan a summer trip I suggest you to turn you mind to Tramuntana hotel in Cadaques and have you perfect experience.
